Showcasing my studio 10 thesis project at Dunwoody College. This design + presentation highlights all of the skills I acquired in my five year education. I chose to work with the partner-client LISC Duluth and their Lincoln Park Food Access Initiative. LISC provided the opportunity for the designer to research and choose their own unique site in the neighborhood. Lincoln Park is considered to be a food desert, which is an urban area in which it is difficult to buy affordable quality fresh food. After neighborhood research, I decided to go with the route of a central neighborhood market. This led to the site selection of the truck repair shop in between the Superior and Michigan Streets. The site offers a large amount of undeveloped land for green space. The goal is to provide a place for the community to connect with each other, while providing a solution to their food access problem.
