Reimagining the "Tarpee"

Through working closely with water protectors on the Line 3 front lines in Palisade, MN, this portable emergency shelter tepee, or "tarpee", was designed to improve the portability and effectiveness of the current design. Paul Cheokten Wagner is the inventor of the tarpee. It has proven to be an essential shelter for front line protests, but he wanted to see some new iterations of it. Paul recruited Dunwoody's Studio 8 students to come up with their own designs that could be made with a CNC router and/or a Plasma Cutter. This allows for a simple file share to any cutting shop, for quick and accessible assembly.
